On this day
On this day June 26th 1907, the Cortina Indian Rancheria was established by order of the Secretary of the Interior, setting aside 160 acres “and an additional 480 acres added on July 20th 1907” for the exclusive use of the Cortina Band of Wintun Indians, now officially known as the Kletsel Dehe Wintun Nation.
Today we mark 116 years of an official relationship with the federal government, and Creator willing many more into the future, remembering and honoring our past since time in memorial to the present day.
